In Nevada, sending threatening text messages can lead to charges of harassment or cyberstalking, which are both criminal offenses. Specifically, using text messages to threaten, terrorize or intimidate someone can be prosecuted as a felony, with cyberstalking being a Category C felony under NRS 200.575. with penalties up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine, as it involves using electronic communication to terrorize someone.
